I have danced professionally with
Eglevsky Ballet, Ballet Michigan, Hartford Ballet, and American Repertory
Ballet. I have staged the Ballets of Septime Webre on many companies,
including; Sacramento Ballet, Ballet Aspen, Ballet Austin, Diablo Ballet,
American Repertory Ballet, Terra Firma Dance Theater, Pittsburg Ballet, The
Washington Ballet, and their Studio Company. I performed in the Vail Valley
International Dance Festival, dancing three different Pas de Deux, and returned
to perform in their gala for the opening of the Beaver Creek Theater. I have
performed my own choreography at many different venues in and around New York
City, including Joe's Pub and Dance Theater Workshop in Chelsea.
I have studied ballet from a young age,
starting with Charmaine Ristow at Wisconsin School of Ballet and then attending
professional track summer programs at; Milwaukee Ballet, San Francisco Ballet,
and Pennsylvania Ballet. I was asked to return for the fall at Pennsylvania
Ballet School on a partial scholarship the summer between my junior and senior
year of high school. I have also studied with many ballet and movement teachers
in New York City.
After retiring from ballet, I went on to
study Pilates. I received a
certification from the IM=X Pilates and began personal training there. I have also taught Pilates at New York Sports
Club, the YMHA and have built up a private personal training practice with
clients in the New York and New Jersey area. I have a certification from the
American Council on Exercise, have taken continuing education classes such as
Imagery and Pilates, Exercise and Pregnancy, Total Strength on the Ball, and
Kinesthetic Anatomy of Spine, Trunk, and Limbs. I work with each client to
create a program to fit their specific needs, using a combination of Pilates,
physioballs, weights, and concepts from ballet.
I am a certified teacher with the
American Ballet Theater's National
Training Curriculum (Pre Ballet through Level 3). I have taught ballet and
dance classes at Rutgers University, Long Island University, Rioult Dance NY,
Studio 5-2, The Lynch School of Ballet, and private coaching for Princeton
ballet students.
This is my journey to
create Motion Quest, a movement practice that combines Ballet, Pilates, Yoga,
and strength training to increase awareness of alignment, build strength in the
core and total body, and encourage ease and fluidity of movement.
